If you want a small "step up" from a myspace then you might want to get a free shop at CafePress. Its a great way for a new band to offer up cheap demo CDs (as cheap as $5), also Tshirts, mugs, posters, buttons, mousepads, hats, bags, calendars, postcards, etc etc etc.

All you have to do is upload the graphics and sound files. They make a shop where you can sell the stuff online. They handle the orders, credit cards, making, shipping, and customer complaints. You can charge as little as the cover-charge on the item or add a couple $ to it. Its up to you.

Its not the BEST online option for such things but its a great way to slip into such things slowly. And even their free shop does alot for providing some online marketing for a new artist of any type. Music, graphics, smart sayings, for a cause, programmer, book writer, whatever. Any creative person who wants to see if their stuff might be marketable.

Sorry. Didnt mean to turn this into a pitch. This is what I do. I try out online sites of many internet services in order to have a big toolbox of suggestions for anyone looking to do anything on the net.
